Off-Road Tourism: Expedition Naga Hills 2.0 flagged off

A three-day long Expedition Naga Hills 2.0 under the aegis of Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) was flagged off today from Kohima.
During three days off-road journey from October 5 to 7, a total of 42 participants including a lady in six bikes and 15 vehicles, will cover Senapati, Tamenglong, Peren and Kohima. 

This expedition promises a thrilling experience through Nagaland and Manipur’s rugged terrain, showcasing its stunning landscapes and rich tribal culture. The event aims to promote off-road tourism in the region, providing a unique opportunity to explore areas beyond the usual tourist paths, according to NAC.

Flagging off the Expedition Naga Hills 2.0 here this morning, Nagaland’s tourism director Veyielo Doulo said that the state tourism department is in the process of promoting off-road tourism in the state. “We want to make Nagaland off-road tourism capital of the country,” he said. For this, Doulo said that the department have started off-road activities recently. He thanked NAC for taking up adventure activities and assured to support them in future as well.

Stating that this Expedition will be covering the villages where normal vehicles cannot go, he said “So, it is not only an adventure or promoting rural or eco- tourism but it is bringing the tourism potentials and bringing livelihood to the rural villagers.”

NAC Advisor Kevidezo Peter Rutsa said that the concept of Expedition Naga Hills is to spread positive message about the North Eastern States and Nagaland as many had negative though about the region in respect of the situation and “not safe to travel.” Rutsa thanked the Tourism Department, Government of Nagaland for their continuous support towards NAC since its formation in 2010. He also thanked six business houses for sponsoring Expedition Naga Hills 2.0.  It includes; Popular Bakery,  Hotel Crescent International, Trap Cars & Bikes,  Urban Home Solutions,  Libra Enterprises and  Colours Graphic.

Kethozelie Liezietsu led a mass prayer for the expedition. Later, NAC president Burakum Ao gave technical briefing. The team will return Kohima on Monday.
