One more COVID-19 related death reported in Manipur

Manipur’s COVID-19 tally rises to 2831

A 20-year-old female became the 7th COVID-19 related fatality in Manipur.

The woman who hailed from Chandel district but stayed at her temporary home in Imphal East succumbed to co-morbid health conditions and COVID-19 on Sunday, a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room said.

Prior to this, Manipur had already reported six COVID-19 related death cases since the first case reported on July 29.

Meanwhile, 61 fresh cases of COVID-19 from the general population and 14 from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were reported in the past 24 hours in the state.

Of the 61 fresh cases among the general population, 25 are males. The press release also said that forty-two of them are from Imphal West, nine from Thoubal district, five from Kangpokpi, three from Senapati and one each from Churachandpur and Chandel districts.

Among them, 48 cases have no significant travel history while that of five cases are under investigation, the report said.

All of them were being shifted to Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

Meanwhile, the numbers of active and recovered cases of COVID-19 in the state are 1087 and 1737 respectively. The recovery rate was 61.07%, it added.
