Some of those who voted YES had this to say:
• Yes corruption has become more widespread. Before, corruption was confined to a few individuals, either out of greed for finance, power of status. But now after 50 years of statehood, corruption has touched every nook and corner of the state. The government keeps using money power to influence villagers to follow their policy and now the common villager will not support without getting some money first. Our whole society has become very corrupt.
• Yes. The gap between the top and the bottom rung of Naga society has widened. Of all the developmental work, the basic needs, i.e. water, road, light and food has not been secured. If this is not corruption than it is policy paralysis. Those responsible should step aside and let good prevail, that’s my earnest prayer. Kuknalim.
