
Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The 3rd Season of Phaipijang Pro League, a football league for the people of Phaipijang area in Dimapur, has started. President of the Kuki Students Organisation Nagaland, Lamminlal declared the 3rd Season open. According to a press release received here, 7 teams have registered for this season and 2 matches will be played every Friday and Saturday. The league was started in 2016 with an aim to promote football and healthy among the youth of Phaipijang, the release said. With the motto 'For a Better Tomorrow', the league is being organised by Orion Annexure, a club formed by a group of likeminded people to promote football and other co-curricular activities in around the locality, it added. The club was formed to provide platform for the youth of Phaipijang and give them “hope and help them pursue their dreams and ambitions,” it added. This season, Kakai Chongloi, who has featured in the Nagaland state team on various occasions and has won multiple NSF Martyrs' and Classic Cup titles with Barak FC, will play for Galaxy SC in the Pro League. Another star player signed for this season is Thanglenmawi from Manipur, who once played for Khanglai FC from Sadar Hills that won The Royal Gold Cup in 2013. In the first season, FC Pegasus took the title, while Ngambom United CF won in the 2nd Season. Teams for Season 3
