Phek legislators visit hospitals under Phek district

Kohima, April 18(MExN): Legislators in charge of COVID-19 related groundwork in Phek district today visited the district headquarter and interacted with officials of the District Administration, Security forces and Department of Food & Civil Supplies.

The team of legislators comprised of Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu, MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu and MLA Kezhienyi Khalo, a press release stated.

Interacting with the officials, Kronu who is also the minister in-charge of Phek District COVID-19, urged the officers to put in joint efforts to tackle the pandemic and strictly adhere to lock down provisions. Kronu also requested the officials to closely monitor the use of essential commodities by coordinating with the local leaders, the release stated.

Appreciating the tireless efforts of the frontline workers, the Minister on behalf of the Phek district legislators, assured to extend its fullest cooperations at all times and appealed them to cooperate with the Government as and even called for.

MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu also shared on the importance proper utilization of essential commodities by coordinating with the local leaders by maintaining equality, justice and transparency in their dealings. This, he said, will provide a healthy atmosphere within the town and its neighbouring villages.

MLA Kezhienyi Khalo expressed his concerned over the availability and utilization of medical facilities including PPE and other protective gears so as to maintain safety measures while performing duties. Both MLAs further expressed gratitude to all those who are involved in the fight against COVID-19, the release stated.

The visiting team later visited the District Hospital Phek and interacted with the staff of the hospital. They assured all possible assistance towards the district, the release said.

Minister Neiba Kronu also visited PHC Chizami, the hospital at Chozuba and also held a short interaction with the administration officials and public leaders at Pfutsero, it said.
