
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation today resolved that until physical integration of Naga areas is achieved, no part of Intangki Reserve Forest must be earmarked or set aside for resettlement plan of any political group as part of Indo-Naga political settlement.
In its annual executive meeting on October 7 at Hotel de Oriental Dream, Dimapur, the NGBF resolved that “without physical integration, population integration is unacceptable.”
It meanwhile cautioned all Naga political groups that “any assassination attempt on the lives of civil society leaders shall not be tolerated.” It added that such actions shall invite appropriate response from NGBF and populace.
Regarding the urban GBs nomenclature and its functions, the house resolved to wait for the outcome of the committee supposed to be set up by the Government of Nagaland.
The house also agreed to conduct a general session at Phek HQ as and when the situation is conducive. Later during the second session of the meeting, the executive member comprising of federating units, represented by the GBs from all the 12 districts and 2 sub-divisions, unanimously selected office bearers for the term 2021-25.
The new team will be led by President, L Shahlem Konyak; General Secretary, Shikuto Zalipu; and Vice Presidents, Kashito Yepthomi; Along Jamir; Phunzuhu Vero; Hangdi; and Hongsa Chang.
