Pughoboto, October 8 (MExN): EAC Pughoboto Akumlong Amer, along with police personnel and Dobashis (DBs), conducted checking of tobacco sales near educational institutions in Pughoboto town on October 8 under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003.
During the checking, shops operating near the school area were found selling tobacco products within 500 metres of an educational institution. The tobacco products were seized and subsequently disposed of.
The shopkeepers were strictly cautioned against selling tobacco products near educational institutions in violation of Section 6(b) of the COTPA Act.
