Regulations for markets in Dimapur district

Dimapur, September 2 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur on Wednesday issued the following regulations for markets in Dimapur: 

•    All shops dealing in essential and non-essential commodities in Dimapur district will be open from Monday to Saturday, as per normal business hours. 

•    Shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, hospitality units, barber shops, salons, beauty parlours, gymnasiums and yoga institutes are allowed to open and function subject to strict compliance of the guidelines issued by the Government. 

•    Vegetable vendors will sell vegetables in the colonies/villages only and not in the daily markets. Vegetable vendors will be allowed to sell vegetables in Supermarket, but hawkers/vendors along Supermarket footpath will be prohibited. 

•    Vegetable market in Purana Bazar will be allowed to open on alternate days following odd - even system i.e. Monday, Wednesday, Friday — Odd Number, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday — Even Number. All other weekly bazaars to remain closed.

•    Millenium market will be allowed to open. 

•    Private vehicles, buses, commercial passenger vehicles, taxis and autorickshaws will be allowed to ply with strict adherence to guidelines as per SOP to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

The proprietors of the shops and establishments will make arrangements for hand sanitizers or hand washing facilities for the public as well as for their own staff workers. Door handles, surfaces and other objects which are frequently touched by people should be cleaned and disinfected regularly. The shops and establishments shall not give entry to anyone not wearing/ improperly wearing a mask.

The public are advised to come out only for essential necessities, mandatorily use hand sanitizers and masks and avoid crowding at shops/establishments.

There is enough stock of all the essential/non- essential commodities available, so the public are advised to refrain from overcrowding the markets. 

Activities not permitted by the Government as per the SOP will continue to remain prohibited/ closed.
