Reinstate bank business hours: SLBC Nagaland to CS

Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): The State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) Nagaland, in a letter to the State Chief Secretary (CS) on April 2, has requested for reinstating bank business transaction hours for the public.

 


SLBC Nagaland informed that women PMJDY account holders’ accounts are expected to be credited with ex-gratia payment under PM Garib Kalyan Package on April 2. As per data available on April 3, 43307 account numbers ending with 0-3 have been credited. In addition, the letter said that the first instalment of PM Kisan Package have been slated for disbursement starting from April 7 where the total number of beneficiaries for the state is 114103.

 


In this regard, we anticipate manifold increase in customer footfalls at bank branches, ATMs and BC/CSP kiosks during this period and at a late date too, the letter said. It requested for reinstating the bank business transaction hours 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for Dimapur and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for all other districts in order to facilitate anticipated upsurge in cash withdrawals.

 


The SLBCN also requested the CS to sensitize district administration accordingly for hassle free movement of bank staff for efficient and smooth banking operation. It sought support for suitable security arrangements at branches, ATMs and BC/CSP kiosks and requested for issue of suitable instructions to district administration and police authority for arrangement of orderly disbursement of cash to the beneficiaries.
