DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): The revamped Nagaland Emporium in New Delhi was officially inaugurated on September 6 by Union Minister, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The event was graced by the presence of Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland, and Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor Industries & Commerce.
In his address, the Union Minister expressed optimism about Nagaland’s economic prospects, citing its rich tradition of micro-entrepreneurship in arts and handicrafts. He emphasized the importance of the Nagaland Emporium as a showcase of Nagaland’s talent and capabilities on a global stage, remarking that the Government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is committed to assisting micro-entrepreneurs from every district in Nagaland to access broader markets.
Abu Metha, during his speech, underlined the significance of the Nagaland Emporium as an ambassador of Nagaland and its people. He stressed that the newly renovated space embodies the Naga way of life and aims to pique the interest of visitors to learn more about Nagaland and its vibrant culture. He also noted that this endeavor aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision to elevate Nagaland to a state of excellence, with a focus on benefiting the grassroots creators, manufacturers, and artisans.
The program was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa. Advisor Hekani Jakhalu delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude for the contributions of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Nagaland’s development journey. The invocation prayer was delivered by Rev. Dr. N. Ricky Medom, Pastor of NCF Delhi, and the vote of thanks was extended by Prasielie Pienyü, Chairman of NHHDC.
