‘Road to perfection is always under construction’

CABYF 50th year celebration underway at Thenyizu village

A three-day celebration of the Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship's (CABYF) 50th year got underway on Friday at Thenyizu village under Phek district with the theme ‘Proclaim liberty in Christ.’

Rev P Bonny Resü, Lead Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur unveiled the 50th anniversary monolith while Rev Vevotso Theluo, Chairman, Chokri Area Baptist Church Council (CABCC) led the flag hoisting.

In the introductory service this evening, Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Professor of Applied Theology, Oriental Theological Seminary, Bade, Dimapur spoke on the topic ‘Where Are You,’ and expounded on the importance of self examination to know where one stands and where they should be. He asked the youths to know their stand and get closer to God.

He reminded that the road to perfection is always under construction and called upon the youth to improvise their talents to achieve their desired goals.

We are not born by accident but for a purpose, he said, as he reminded the youths to reflect on their God-given purpose and make the best use of it.

CABCC chairman Rev Vevotso Theluo urged the youths to take advantage of 50th year celebration platform to change themselves and be messengers of God.

Nine villages including one town namely Thipuzu, Phusachodu, Phuyoba, Khulazu Bawe, Khulazu Basa, Kikruma village, Chesezu, Thenyizu, North Kikruma and Chetheba Town are part of CABYF. The celebration will go on till January 17.
