
Guwahati, October 31 (MExN): The Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum 2018 will take place from 1- 2 November at the Lily Hotel Guwahati under the theme “Rural Futures: Social-Environmental-Economic Interdependence” through the perspective of perspective of Ecofeminism and is organized by the Balipara Foundation. The gathering will deliberate on the idea that life in nature is maintained through co-operation, mutual care and love and aims to bring about gender equality and embrace the interdependence and connections humans have with the Earth. Dr Vandana Shiva, noted scholar and ecofeminist will deliver the welcome address. A major highlight of the event will be the Balipara Foundation Awards on the evening of 2nd November that will recognize 16 new Earth Heroes, who put into action innovative solutions for ecological restoration and inspire others. The Balipara Foundation focused on creating community-based conservation models in the Eastern Himalayas and bringing into focus diverse topics for discussion that have a direct impact towards Rural Futures: Social-Environmental-Economic Interdependence, including gender neutrality and empowering grassroots leaders.
