Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) called upon all educational institutes operating under Southern Angami jurisdiction to take extraordinary measures to ensure the progress of the students’ academic curriculum and facilitate the learning process.
As the Government has directed for non-closure of institutional offices, the SASU advises the head of all Institutions to encourage the teachers to prepare the syllabus (particularly from class VIII-XII) on a timely basis, SASU stated in a press release.
Such information and notes should be disseminated in printed or Portable Document Format (PDF), to enable the students to continue their studies, added the release appended by SASU President Virato Naleo, General Secretary Keneivono Paphino, and Statistics & Education Secy. Kevimechie Tsükrü.
It further urged all the Institutions to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Board of School Education, prepare for any future eventualities and also to sensitise the students and parents against traumatic fear.
SASU also requested the parents to engage and monitor their children’s educational activities.
The Union also urged the Village Education Committee, School Management Committee (SMC) and student bodies to act responsibly and assist the teachers in the dissemination of the required information to the students. “The hardships which the students will endure in this academic year should be met with extra effort on the part of the teachers, parents and the community at large,” it maintained.
The SASU encouraged the Department of Education in facilitating the use of tele/radio and internet tutoring for Class VIII-XII and the usage of e-learning tutorials to enable students to continue their learning at home.
The exigency of the time has called for an extraordinary role so that the education of students is not hampered by this unprecedented pandemic, it said, while appreciating the efforts of the government in combating the COVID -19 pandemic.
The Union also urged the citizens to “stay optimistic and have faith in Almighty God and support the frontline workers so that we shall overcome this crisis together.”
