The Children's Festival 2025, held under the theme “Sparkle”, concluded on October 3 with the message of faith, love, and purpose. Organised by SBAK Aizuto, the three-day event featured worship sessions, musical performances, biblical competitions, and powerful exhortations from spiritual leaders. Children from various churches actively participated in events such as Bible action songs, composed theme songs, band performances, group songs, and biblical drama.
Rev Dr Daniel Chishi, Executive Secretary of SBAK Aizuto, delivered an impactful exhortation to the Sunday School students and leaders on October 2. Speaking directly to the children, he reminded them of their identity in Christ.
“You are the heritage of God, and as children, you are precious to Him,” he said. “You are God’s wonderful gift, and we encourage you to sparkle for Jesus. Love God, your family, friends, and yourself. Nurture your relationship with God through prayer, Bible reading, and attending church.”
Addressing Sunday School leaders, he urged them to see the value in their calling. “Train your children well and mould their lives with care. Do not think it is a small task to teach children you are blessed and doing great work,” he added.
Rev Inakhu Sumi, Pastor of Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC), expressed hope that children would accept Jesus Christ and carry His message into their lives. “I encourage the children to obey their parents, choose the Lord, study well, and use their talents for His glory,” he said.
Ilika H., Christian Education Secretary of SBAK Aizuto, outlined the objectives of the festival. “Our aim is to ensure every child experiences the love of Jesus Christ. Through this festival, we want them to feel, see, experience, and taste God’s love,” she said. “The theme ‘Sparkle’ encourages children to shine for Jesus, know Him personally, and boldly use their talents.”
She encouraged the children with a message of love and blessing: “We love you so much. We are friends together. May God bless you, guide you, and grant you prosperity and success in life.”
Abdon Mech performed a special song. During an earlier session, he also shared his testimony, speaking about his musical journey and the importance of recognising and using one’s God-given talents.
“Many see only the glamorous parts of my life,” he said. “But I was confused after college, and only later chose to pursue music seriously. I spent a lot of time alone composing over 2,000 songs so far.”
Abdon encouraged children and youth to take responsibility for their own future. “God has given everyone gifts, but it’s up to you to develop them. You can be anything you want, but it requires effort, prayer, and trust in God,” he said.
The festival also included a special praise and worship session led by Suruhuto Town Baptist Church and was supported by various Sunday School leaders who chaired different segments of the programme. Competitions and activities were held to encourage creativity and scriptural learning among the children.
The event concluded with a prayer and benediction by Kiyelu Yepthomi, Mission Coordinator, after prize distributions and acknowledgements led by Zhetoli Ahoshe, Christian Education Coordinator.
