KOHIMA, JANUARY 3 (MExN): St Francis Xavier Catholic Church Kidima observed ‘Epiphany’ with Reverend Father Siby John, Parish Priest as the main celebrant with the rest of the world at the Church premises on January 3. Father Siby John stated that ‘Epiphany’ means the “manifestation of the Lord.” The Parish Priest said “Magi signify for all and the Christ is the universal saviour.” “The three wise men came from east to worship the baby Jesus in Jerusalem with the gift of gold representing kingship, myrrh signifying the death and resurrection and divine nature of Jesus, and frankincense as per the salvation history,” he added. He further informed that the Christmas star and decorations would be removed after the ‘Epiphany’ according to the liturgy. The Eucharist celebration was also held and a special prayer was offered for the departed soul amongst the community members.
