Kohima | April 20

With the extension of nationwide lockdown till May 3 to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Kohima district administration along with Disaster Management Authority in association with Angami Students Union (ASU) today distributed food items to the stranded students at the Kohima Local Ground.


Essential commodities like rice, dal and salt have been distributed to many students who were stranded in different colonies/wards.


ASU informed that they will be distributing relief material to students door to door for those who cannot come out. ASU president Vizokho Zashümo said the Union is seriously concerned about the student community stranded during this lockdown period and doing its best to help them.


The Union in coordination with the District Administration is trying it's best to assist the stranded students here in Kohima, he said and asked all the students not to panic, but to adhere to the guidelines laid down by the state government.


Regarding the matter on the stranded students wanting to go their respective districts, he said it has been advised from the higher authorities and the administration to kindly be patient for some more days and stay in their respective present location.
