Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The former Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) 2 Dimapur II A/C , Dimapur candidate today urged the district administration to look seriously into the price escalation of the essential commodities
All the Civil Societies/NGOs should act cohesive with administration so that the menace of price escalation will be controlled, he stated in a press release.
“If anybody sees any individual/Association/Group indulging in unfair trade practices the same should be immediately informed to the district administration or to the police,” he said.
Stating that the purchasing power in the hands of public is very limited in view of the unprecedented lock down, Jamir opined that if price escalates then “many unwanted elements will creep in and eventually there will be law and order problem in our state.”
In this connection, he further appealed the business community not to look only on “profit motives at this critical time but to act as tonic to our society as this pandemic will be over soon. “
Meanwhile, Jamir lauded the State Government through district administration is providing essentials to the public during the ongoing crisis.
Beside, the Good Samaritan works of Churches/NG0s/Individuals are highly appreciated, he said.
In this regard, Jamir further maintained that it is pertinent for the concerned district administration to act “very tactful while delivering the reliefs so as to reach the right hand at right time and to avoid injustice.”
Government will take good decision to bailout the public from the crisis, but if the implementing agencies fail to deliver the same judiciously then “the wise decision will turn unwise and ultimately the public will suffer immensely,” he added.
