DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): In connection with the earlier statement of the three village councils of Tenyiphe-I, Tenyiphe-II and Tenyiphe-III (Virazouma) regarding drawal of money for construction of hostel in Tenyiphe village, the Tenyiphe-I Village Council on Monday clarified that the contractor, Tepuvito Angami, as summoned had approached the chairman and secretary of Tenyiphe-I village.
A clarification note from the Tenyiphe-I village chairman Helie Kruse and secretary Tosovil Rhetso informed that the village council has verified that the said contractor is constructing a hostel in his private plot at ‘C’ Khel and the work is under full progress.
“In the course of deliberation, it has been clarified that Tepuvito Angami was ignorant about the village rules and regulations and had therefore undertaken the project without intimating the village council and without getting any NOC form from the council authorities, as such the present communication gap arose,” the press clarification read. It stated that the matter stands resolved and the council clarify that the said construction is being undertaken at Tenyiphe-I village.
Meanwhile, the three village councils of Tenyiphe-I, Tenyiphe-II and Tenyiphe-III have extended gratitude to the Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) for taking the initiative to unearth the truth and bring awareness to the public about the various schemes and projects undertaken by the government and supporting the villages in their endeavor in bringing transparency in the activities within the village.
The three village councils also informed that anyone bringing such schemes and projects within the village jurisdiction should keep the councils informed in order to avoid misunderstandings.
Failing to do so would invite necessary actions from the councils and any complications arising as a consequence would be solely at the risk of such person undertaking the work.
