Life is priceless; it can neither be purchased nor borrowed. This life is also very brief, like a sojourn. The very existence of every human being is therefore not by accident nor by chance, but each soul is sent with a purpose and a plan which is carefully crafted in the master plan of the ultimate; the source of our lives.
From the very first minute a person steps into this world, he is confronted by multiple choices. But basically these choices are of two kinds, one of the carnal self and the other of the divine. The former seems more appealing and the latter more tedious and constricted. Therefore till one breathes his last there is a constant struggle between these two forces within one self. This warfare within us determines our view of life and consequently determines how we value life and make choices.
Only when a person allows himself to be directed and controlled by the divine nature endowed in us, then only can we value life and make healthy choices.
In this endeavor, it is very important for each person to recognize his/her potentials because every person is unique in his or her own self with different potentials. Therefore it is the duty of each person to develop his/her personnel potentialities. Because it is a fact that each of us has the potential to become great and successful at something; a great scholar, a great leader, a great wife/husband, a great mother/father, a successful businessman and so on.
But on the contrary, many people are unhappy and frustrated with life and some even go to the extent of taking their own lives. The crux of the matter is that we fail to recognize our potentials and even if we do we are not willing to develop our talents and potentials. Sometimes we become impatient as we expect to reap a good return from the little investment we make down the road. Many of us succumb to our nature of human being, tend to compare ourselves with other people around us and eventually make wrong choices to satiate our selfish desires.
Why has our world grown so grey and corrupt? Why has love and sense of brotherhood gone so cold? Why has our morality gone so degrading and absurd? Why are there so many broken families in our society today? It is because humans submit themselves to the carnal desires of life? For the nature man has an inclination to the evil nature, and when we give in to this we lose all noble values and virtue of life and as a result our values are dictated by our selfish nature.
We cry for peace, progress, development and prosperity of our society. If we really wish to achieve all these, then it has to start from every passing moment of life.
