The launching programme of TK Skills, a tailoring training centre under the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland was held at Daily Bazaar Complex in Tuensang on December 17.
Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant while speaking on the occasion as special guest observed, “The Naga society is declining slowly. In the olden times everything was done by own, from agriculture to all other sectors but after the introduction of government jobs we have become lazy. A society cannot sustain only with government jobs, we need people in different fields.”
The DC Tuensang said that COVID-19 pandemic is a lesson for us. “Once the access to Jorhat is shut down, we are in need of essential commodities, we have become too dependent,” he lamented.
Meanwhile he appreciated the Director of TK Skills for having a vision to train people of the district. “We need to show our talents to the outside world,” he added.
Nungsanglemba, President, Chang Khulei Setshang also delivered a short speech. The introduction of the tailoring unit was delivered by Alemla Chang, Director TK Skill, Tuensang. Earlier, the programme was chaired by S Phoment, Administrator, TK Skills while Bible reading and prayer was initiated by Imsujungba, Pastor, Sangtam Baptist Church, Tuensang.
