Kohima, September 29 (MExN): The closing ceremony of Hindi fortnight organised by Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Kohima was held at the State Academy Hall, PR Hill, Kohima on September 29.

The event was attended by Heads of central Government Offices stationed at Kohima and the subordinate officials and their family members. Addressing the gathering, Vivek Kumar Bhaskar, Secretary, TOLIC, Kohima & Sr DAG (Audit), Nagaland said the language is a vital part of human connection. 

He said everyone has their ways of communicating. Language allows us to share ideas, thoughts and feelings with others. It has the power to build societies. Most people, language come naturally. We learn how to communicate even before we can talk. This is one of the many reasons why language is important.  Language helps us express our feelings and thoughts within different cultures and societies.

He said language helps preserve cultures and allows us to learn about others and spreads ideas quickly.  The programme was led by Deep Prajwalan, TOLIC accompanied by Secretary and Dy Secretary, TOLIC, Kohima. 

A special song was presented by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kohima; Temjentiba, Announcer, Akashvani and various other participants also presented a special song and showcased varieties of culture. Welcome Speech was delivered by Vivek Kumar Bhaskar, Secretary, TOLIC, Kohima & Sr. DAG (A&E), Nagaland. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prem Kumar Chhetry, Consultant, Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E) Nagaland, Kohima The programme was followed by a cultural programme.
