CRO celebrates 3rd foundation day
Dimapur, January 7 (MExN): The Consumer Rights Organisation (CRO) Nagaland observed its third foundation day on January 7 with the objective to further its awareness campaigns on consumer rights and protection in all the districts and subdivisions across the state.
According to updates from the state DIPR on Thursday, CRO Nagaland President James Jungio, while delivering the keynote address, informed that the organisation has been working relentlessly in the fight against corruption and creating awareness ever since its launch on in 2019.
“The organisation’s main objective and plan for 2021-22 is consumer rights and protection awareness campaign in all the 12 districts and subdivision in collaboration with the state government and the department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection,” he added.
Advisor Pukhayi Assumi who graced the occasion as special guest also addressed the gathering and appealed the consumer societies to be sincere in protecting the consumers, "especially the un-educated and ignorant consumers."
He reminded the CRO Nagaland officials to retrospect its achievements and activities and also asked the consumer societies to bring their achievement reports to the department every year, in order to receive government facilities.
He further exhorted them to have competitive ideas and implored them to give their best service while assuring them of the government's protection to the consumer organisations.
As per the DIPR report, officials from the state Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection also spoke on the occasion while media co-ordinator Aseto Zao presented a special number.
Associate Pastor, DImapur Sumi Baptist Church, Vishiho Shohe invoked God's blessings while Abeni Tsopoe proposed the vote of thanks during the programme which was attended by government officials, CRO unit presidents, and civil society organisations, among others.
