Kohima, May 30 (MExN): A book titled “Student’s Travelogue: A Collection of Memories”, published by Modern Publication, was formally released in Kohima on May 30 by Manoj Kumar, Commandant of 13 Assam Rifles.

Published with ISBN 978-81-987069-4-2, the travelogue is a compilation of articles and reflections authored by students and teachers of Modern College, Piphema, who participated in various educational tours and exchange programmes across the country.

The publication chronicles not only their journeys but also their experiences of personal growth, cultural exposure and learning gained through interaction with diverse communities.

The book is divided into three sections, each documenting a different educational programme undertaken during 2025.

The first section focuses on the National Integration Tour 2025 to Mumbai, Pune and Goa, organised by Assam Rifles from February 4 to 18, 2025. Five students and one teacher from the college participated in the tour.

The second section highlights the Border Youth Exchange Programme to East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh, organised and supported by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) from February 26 to March 2, 2025. The programme involved four students and one teacher.

The third section documents a Students Exchange Programme to Gaya, Bihar, conducted under the aegis of NYKS from March 21 to 25, 2025. Sixteen students and two teachers took part in the initiative.

According to the publishers, the travelogue aims to preserve and share these educational experiences with a wider audience. Beyond recording memories, the book seeks to serve as a bridge connecting diverse cultures and perspectives while encouraging young people to explore, learn and broaden their horizons.

The publication also highlights the role of educational tours and exchange programmes in fostering national integration, cultural understanding and experiential learning among students.
