In a tragic incident, two boys died after drowning in a pond in Chumoükedima, Dimapur on June 15. According to the police, it was “accidental drowning.” The incident occurred around 4:00 pm in a pond located near the 15th NAP (Mahila IR) battalion headquarters, Ward 9, Chumoükedima. They reportedly slipped and fell into the pond. As per the police report, they were collecting fodder for pigs at the time. The deceased victims were identified as Trimchang Yim (12 years) and Lirhi Kapfo (11 years). Both were residents of Ward 9.
