Wokha, April 8 (MExN): Wokha DC and Wokha District Task Force for COVID-19 informed all Lotha villages bordering Assam to totally seal the borders in their respective areas. In an order issued through the DIPR, the DC stated that “drugs peddlers and substance abusers” have been frequently visiting Assam for purchase and consumption. As such, the DC informed the village council chairmen to “seal their areas and control such activities so that peddlers, substance abuser are not the agent of COVID-19.” The DC directed VCCs to “act according to village customary laws and laws of the land and strictly enforce and curb such illegal activities in their own areas.” Strict action should be initiated against the violators, he added.
