Teams distributing vegetable seeds at Peren in observance of World Veterinary Day on April 25.
Peren, April 27 (MExN): The faculty of College of Veterinary Sciences, Jalukie and KVK Peren celebrated the World Veterinary Day by planting tree saplings in the campus on April 25 under the theme “Environmental protection for improving Animal and Human Health”.
The Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences, Jalukie, Dr Capt G Dhanan Jaya Rao informed in a press release that having recognised the importance of backyard vegetable garden or kitchen garden, the COVSC, Jalukie and KVK Peren distributed vegetable seeds- palak, long beans, cow pea, maize and tomato in the presence of the officials of the local administration to over 456 families of Jalukie and surrounding villages.
The first pack of vegetable seeds was received by the EAC, Jalukie C Wangan.
Maintaining the lockdown protocol of social distancing and to prevent crowding- individual teams were formed for distribution of the vegetable seeds lead by Dr Capt G D Rao, Dean of COVSC, Jalukie and Dr Babitha Mukharjee, In Charge, KVK Peren along with Dr Gunjan Das, Mukharjee, Imtiwati, Bhabesh Mili, Ksh Mahesh Singh, Amrit Gogoi, K Merina Devi, Tukheswar Lalchawimawia Ralte Chutia, Laltlankimi, Lalsangpü, Malsawm Kima with supporting staff Lungkemrakpe and Rezubeu Hegwang.
