Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) flayed the state government and the “dismal unpreparedness” of the COVID-19 Hospital in Dimapur in tackling the pandemic.
Stating that doctors have been allegedly supervising the ongoing works at the COVID-19 Hospital, the WSH in a press release, questioned the state government “if there is any dearth of local workers or engineers in our state” and whether the doctors should oversee the ongoing works or treat an infected person.
It suggested that the state government tie up with the Labour Department and enroll those registered under it to finish the project on a war-footing as the situation demands so.
Further, the WSH questioned “the supply of inferior quality PPE and incomplete set” to doctors and nurses and urged for the matter to be properly investigated. Terming it as “an abominable act against humanity” it stated that those found responsible should be punished.
The WSH also asserted that the BSL-3 lab should be set up at Dimapur as it has bigger area and more floating population thus making it more vulnerable and posing a risk to all the other districts.
The WSH has also demanded that proper nutritious food be given to all the quarantined persons at the designated centres.
