WVGEU celebrate silver jubilee

Wokha, December 29 (MExN): The Wokha Village Government Employees' Union (WVGEU) celebrated its silver jubilee at Wokha Village Baptist Church Multipurpose building on December 29 with the theme ‘Progress with Technology.’

Speaking on the occasion as special invitee, Dr Chumben Murry, MLA expressed hope that “2021 will be a year of blessings for the people of Wokha village. Dr Chumben was WVGEU, President during 2005-2007. 

On the theme ‘Progress with Technology,’ Murry said with the advancement in technology, every individual needs to be acquainted and updated with latest development as technology has become an essential and integral part of our daily life.

Dr Chumben also shared that in the near future all office papers works in all government establishments will become paperless due to technology and to help in save the environment. On this note, he encouraged the gathering to keep up with technology and have practical knowledge of the same.

He also advised the Union to set a vision through the celebration of silver jubilee and focus more on human resources as the present generation is moving fast ahead which require employment generation for the youth.

Earlier in the day, Murry unveiled the jubilee monolith, unfurled the union flag and released the union silver jubilee magazine. Monolith dedication prayer was done by Rev O Thungben Kikon pastor, WVBC.

On the occasion, a welcome address delivered by Yanrenthung Kikon president, WVGEU. B Longtsu Tungoe, former president, WVGEU shared a brief history of WVGEU and S Yanphamo Tungoe chairman Wokha Village Council delivered greetings.
