Zunheboto citizens complying with lockdown guidelines

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): Enforcement of the lockdown in Zunheboto district has been relatively smooth as most citizens have been complying with the rules implemented by the District Administration.

 


According to updates on the situation, social distancing is being strictly monitored and maintained all over the district while buying essential goods or queuing up in the ATM booths.

 


On Palm Sunday, the churches also remained closed and people conducted prayers and listened to pre-recorded devotional messages and sermons in the comfort of their own homes.

 


Meanwhile, Police personnel, District Administration, medical teams and volunteers have been active and performing its duties, the update stated.

 


Movement between villages has also been blocked and all kind of social gatherings in all the villages are prevented. The government has distributed medical supplies such as masks, soaps and hand sanitizers to the village people, it said, adding that only those who need to procure essential commodities are allowed to go out of village. 

 


On the status of essential commodities in the district, it informed that there is sufficient stock for everyone and two trucks carrying essential commodities entered the district on Monday. The driver and the handyman were fully sanitized, provided with masks and gloves and proper details were taken before they were allowed to enter the village, it added.

 


In addition, it said that the citizens have also been cooperating with the rules and regulations of the lockdown as implemented by the government and no civilians have been seen outside after the time period allocated for shopping.
