Zunheboto: Pothole-hit road patched up ahead of Governor’s visit

The District Urban Development Office, Zunheboto has carried out patchwork on a pothole-ridden stretch of road in Zunheboto ahead of a visit by Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav.

The Governor is scheduled to visit Zunheboto district on Monday, September 28.

He is expected to land at the helipad at the Assam Rifles Camp here before proceeding to the Multipurpose Hall in North Point Colony, where his engagement is scheduled to be held.

The road connecting the two venues had been in a deplorable condition for a long time, with large potholes causing difficulties for commuters.

Ahead of the Governor’s visit, the District Urban Development Office, Zunheboto undertook repair work on the damaged stretch, carrying out patchwork to improve its condition.

While the recent patchwork has brought some relief to commuters using the stretch, questions remain over the road’s long-term condition, with no clarity yet on whether more extensive repairs will be undertaken.

Preparations are currently underway in the town ahead of the Governor’s visit on Monday.
