Pughoboto, February 15 (MExN): The Aphuyemi Football Club (AFC) inaugurated the Aphuyemi Football Academy in Pughoboto Town on February 15. 


Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Dr Kitaka S Wotsa, Medical Officer of State’s Health & Family Welfare Department said that talent alone was not enough to compete in this age and one needs structured training to excel in any fields whether sports, music, church ministry etc. 


Only an academy can provide such trainings, he said, noting that most Naga talents cloud not reach the level of national and international stars as they usually play with their friends on football ground.


He expressed hope that the academy would provide such avenue to local talents to compete at bigger arena. 


Structured training for local talents in furnished football academy is the  mission of AFC, the club said in a press release.


Among others, Gaon Bura and Judicial Convener Sumi Aphuyemi Kukami Hoho, Kiyevi Swu attended the event.
