ANCSU appeal to exempt educational institutions

Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed concern in the interest of the students’ community over the ongoing issue which has affected students at large. ANCSU appealed for exemption of colleges and other educational institutions from the preview of bandh in all the districts.

Highlighting the plights of the students, ANCSU President, Zhoku Thuluo and General Secretary, Benjong Longchar in a press release stated that under the present semester system for undergraduate and degree studies in Nagaland University, the students and colleges are put to “day to day” activity for completion of syllabus and semester over a very limited time. In view of the mentioned fact, the college students are compromising their priority by missing regular classes for several days due to the bandh. The college students cannot risk even a single day of our semester as it will directly affect our “Internal and External Exams”, ANCSU stated while expressing the same concern for the schools and higher secondary around the state.

While appreciating the efforts of the JCC, NTAC and all the organizations over the issue for the welfare of the Nagas, ANCSU extended its full support and solidarity to all.

Demand to lift internet ban

Meanwhile, ANCSU also appealed to the state government to immediately lift internet ban in the state, as the students appearing HSLC and HSSLC examinations are deprived from accessing study materials and other necessary information through internet. “The internet connection has nothing to do with the ongoing imbroglio of Nagaland State. Instead due to the internet ban more rumours and confusions are mounted. Due to internet ban many section of the society is adversely affected,” the student body mentioned.
