Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): An armed person, allegedly a cadre of NSCN (K), was arrested during a search operation launched by 41 Assam Rifles along with police representative in general area of 5th Mile, Dimapur on May 1. He was arrested along with one Pt 22 mm Pistol with magazine, three live rounds of assorted ammunition and one blank cash receipt of NSCN (K), stated a press note from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma PRO, HQ IGAR (North). The apprehendee identified as one Inovi Avika Assumi (32 yrs) alias Max was a ‘Finance Secretary’ NSCN (K) of Dimapur & Kohima region and a resident of Akuluto village, Zunehboto District, it said. According to the press note, the apprehendee confessed of serving “extortion notice” to various vehicle showrooms in Dimapur, Chumukedima and Kohima over the past few days and admitted that he was working under, ‘Brig.’ Akhao Zhimo, Finance in charge of NSCN (K), Dimapur region. The apprehendee individual along with the recovered arms and items were handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur, it added.
