Kohima, February 4 (MExN): Angami Youth Organization (AYO) today maintained that the implication of the NPF Youth Wing that the tribal bodies were instigated by Neiphiu Rio or Imkong L Imchen or anybody holds no substance. “Such baseless allegation is an insult to our ingenuity and a direct affront to the selfless efforts that are rendered in the interest and welfare of our society. We have got absolutely nothing to do and have no interest with them in this issue.”
AYO said this in response to the statement of NPF Youth Wing “justifying the decision of the State government”, which appeared in the local dailies on February 3, 2017. It termed the NPF Youth Wing’s statement “ridiculous, unfounded and baseless…devoid of any substance and value.”
Advising the NPF Youth Wing “not to act over smart and speak beyond their capacity,” the AYO in a rejoinder issued by its Publicity Cell further questioned, “Is it the denial of rights or acceptance of right that have created the present impasse?” The youth organisation answered, “It is the denial of the voice of the people which you claim as anarchy and mobocracy the responsible factor behind all the subversive terror that have unfolded in the recent times.”
With regard to the claim that NPF led DAN Government will not enact laws or frame policies which are detrimental to the Nagas, AYO stated, “We find this statement uniquely preposterous. Unique because the laws and policies enacted and framed in this regard were detrimental to the Naga people for such realization your Government nullified the municipal elections.”
The youth organisation further accused the NPF Youth Wing of being “drunk with power intoxicant.” It also acknowledged the claim that ULB municipal election has created chaos and division in our society as grandly true. “Quiet true because rights of the people were absolutely denied and never heeded, free democratic voices were entirely suppressed with constitutional and legal justifications without acknowledging the social and political aspects, blatant abrogation of packs which were made even with the Church represented by the Home Minister were scraped to the wastebin with no regard and worst of all heinous violations of perpetrating terror against her own people. Yes, it is true. This issue has created chaos by the Government.”
Meanwhile, AYO stated “the present impasse is lacking sagacity and magnanimity on the part of the Government. We trust that sanity based on sensibility and reasons would be delivered by the NPF led DAN Government.”
