Except for the ban on government offices and vehicles, normal life continued with business establishments, educational establishments and banks open for the public along with unrestricted plying of private and commercial vehicles.

Government entities exempted from the purview of the ban include schools/colleges, District Administration, police Stations, defence, paramilitary, Fire and Emergency Services, banks, BSNL/Telecom and Postal Service, Nagaland State Transport (NST) Bus & Stations, Power stations, Nagaland Public Services Commission (NPSC), Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Health services, and Accountant General.

144 Cr.PC to remain in vulnerable areas in Kohima

Section 144 Cr.PC will continue to remain in effect in areas identified as “vulnerable” in Kohima.

DGP LL Doungel, on Tuesday,  stated that the deployment of security personnel will not be scaled down in the Chief Minister’s complex, Minister’s Hill, Raj Bhavan, DC complex, Secretariat and Assembly areas. However, security has been relaxed in the PHQ junction.

As per the DGP, the security personnel also got some “respite” today after days of heightened vigil, partly on account of the multiple coordination meetings going on in Kohima. He though stated that there will be “no let up in the vigil” in the days to come while hoping things will not go out of control.
