Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): All butchers along National Highway-29 are informed to slaughter all animals from DMC modern abattoir, old Khatkati Road, Burma Camp, Dimapur. The DMC has established a unit of Modern Slaughter Houses for cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats and pigs. DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome, IAS informed in a press release that in this regard, the Supreme Court and MOFPI has also given directive to centralize slaughter of all food animals and implement the Slaughter House Act and prevention of cruelty to animals as mandatory. Therefore, all butchers operating along the NH-29 are directed to bring their animals to the authorized Modern Slaughter Houses in order to conduct proper ante-mortem and post mortem inspection of the livestock and meat for safe healthy and hygienic meat for human consumption. “This order is for strict compliance and comes into immediate effect,” the DC added.
