Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): The Food & Civil Supplies, Dimapur in collaboration with PATH, Technical partner will be organising series of programme across the state for generating general awareness to clear the misinformation on plastic rice being circulated in social media.
In Dimapur, the awareness programme will be held on August 29 at 11:00 am at IMC hall, fellowship colony for Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts, informed a press release issued by Food & Civil Supplies, Assistant Director, S Kavito Aomi.
Therefore, the department has requested all concerned FPS under three districts, village councils, colony chairmen and urban GBs to attend the awareness programme and spread the message and educate on the benefit of consumption of fortified rice.
The release also stated that as per the Government of India policy to achieve uniform nutritional impact of fortified rice amongst the targeted population, fortified rice is being provided through various schemes like ICDS, PM POSHAN and PDS under National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA) in the entire country in phased wise manner.
