Billy Graham’s son Franklin to hold revival meet in Kohima on November 30

Fifty-three years after world-renowned evangelist Dr. Billy Graham first set foot on Nagaland’s soil in 1972, his son Rev. Franklin Graham is set to visit the state for what church leaders call it a “historic and legacy visit” on November 30, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

Sharing details of the event at a press conference held today at Choka Restaurant, IG Road, the Kohima Baptist Pastors Fellowship (KBPF) and members of the reception described junior Graham’s visit as “a long-awaited prayer answered.”

The programme, it was informed is being organised in collaboration with 53 churches in Kohima, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF). The visiting team includes Rev. Franklin Graham along with 12 other members and a band from Singapore.

KBPF spokesperson, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao excitedly said, “this visit has been in our prayers for many years and going to be fulfilled in a few days’ time” and thanked all believers and Churches for their continued prayers and support.

He extended invitation to all Naga citizens irrespective of Church affiliations to attend and be a part of the historic event and be blessed.
He also appealed all to maintain peace and mutual understanding during this time, and to desist from wrong information and misleading news, but to pray and intercede for this reception, and for the well-being of the guests.

Emphasising the spiritual significance of the visit, KBPF President, Rev. Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachü recalled that the visit of Billy Graham in 1972 brought “healing” among the Nagas at a time when Nagas were going through “huge social and spiritual turmoil.”

He expressed confidence that Franklin’s visit will bring a huge impact on the people of Nagaland, and that Nagas are earnestly looking forward to having fellowship with him. Rev Sachü said they are expecting over 50,000 people to gather and have fellowship.

Rev. Phesao also thanked the government of the day led by Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio and his colleagues for personally taking keen interest in extending logistical assistance, including facilities for the event and visa coordination for the visiting team. He also appreciated the Government of India for extending all necessary support for the visa.

Other members Rev. Dr. Kevichalie Metha; Spokerperson, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho, Advisor, Pastor Khekavi Yeptho; and Dr. SN Among, Secretary also spoke.

They said Rev. Franklin Graham’s upcoming visit was made possible through the initiative and coordination of Rev. Robert Cunville, a long-time associate of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

When enquired, members said that visa processing is underway and expressed optimism that all necessary clearances would be completed on time. Financial preparations for the event, they added, are being made through voluntary donations from churches and individuals, not through solicitation or compulsion.

It was also informed that Rev. Franklin Graham will inaugurate the renovated Billy Graham Road, named after his father, restoration of which is under way.

Making anappeal to all citizens of Nagaland to pray for the success of the visit, as they described it as a time of renewal for the state, one of the members said “This is not just a gatheringbut a moment for spiritual revival and unity among our people.
