Following the Lok Sabha campaign for People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) Consensus candidate Dr Chumben Murry in Wokha district on April 13, Mmhonlumo Kikon, National Spokesperson of BJP and BJP In-charge of Mizoram, discussed several critical issues prevailing in the state with the media persons at Wokha today.

Addressing the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) issue, Kikon extended hope, urging their participation in the democratic process. He also assured that their concerns have been given due consideration at the highest levels.

Kikon criticised the Congress Party for its lack of a substantive agenda for Nagaland's future, asserting them as “political tourists” who only show interest in the state during elections, especially citing Rahul Gandhi's recent visit.

Regarding the Bharat Jodo Yatra's impact, Kikon criticised that it did not have much effect on the state. He called it more of a show than anything else, noting that Rahul Gandhi's visit did not involve any serious political discussions but mainly focused on criticizing PM Modi.

Meanwhile, Kikon praised Dr Chumben Murry's candidacy, highlighting his expertise in governance and his qualities as a skilled, well-mannered leader. He expressed confidence that Murry would effectively represent the interests of the Nagas in Parliament. Kikon emphasised Murry's dedication to addressing the Naga Political Issue and brushed off concerns about religious matters as mere political manipulation.

He underscored that people are exaggerating the religious issue. He mentioned that during his 11 years in the BJP, he noticed many dedicated Christians among party members from Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. He highlighted their active involvement in protecting Christian interests and firmly opposed any attempts to misuse religion for political gain.

Expressing absolute certainty, Kikon stated that the BJP would win victory with 370 seats or more in the centre. He also foresaw a resounding victory for the PDA, attributing it to voters' acknowledgment of the necessity for an outspoken and effective Lok Sabha representative.
