The day three of the ongoing AASA Sports Meet 2025 witnessed an exciting football match of comeback and dominance at Kiyeto Local Ground on November 19.

In the first match of the day, host team Kiyeto Youth Club withered an early setback to force a brilliant (4-1) comeback, ending Khehoi’s run in the ongoing tournament.

Khehoi SC found an early success into the game as Piwoto managed to find the opening goal for the side coming off a corner kick, sending the ball pass the keeper in the 7th minute of the game to take the match to 1-0.

Despite the early setback, KYC pushed hard and eventually found a goal after a defensive miscommunication and a subtle dribble by Jubito sent the ball rolling past the Khehoi’s keeper in the 19th minute of the game, bringing the score at 1-1 level.

Seven minutes after the goal, the front man for KYC, Jubito, scored again with the help of a one-touch assist from James off a rebound of a freekick in the 27th minute, leading the score by 2-1.

The host team did not take long to take the lead to 3-1 as they found success again in the second half when Atobo parked the ball into the net with a one-touch sublime finish after a long cross from right back in the 56th minute.

The morning match came to an end after Aloto sealed the deal for the home team scoring an impressive ‘left-footed’ banger from outside the penalty box area in the 60th minute, marking a fierce 4-1 comeback in their run.

Hukhevi shines for SSC with a five-goal glut

In the second match of the day between Shokhuvi Sporting Club and Lhothavi Sporting Club, Hukhevi shined brightly for SSC as he conquered the first hat-trick title of the tournament finishing with an impressive five-goal glut.

The SSC found an early goal when an error within the LSC’s defense led to a suicide goal in the 2nd minute of the game.  The goal fest began as Hukhevi netted two goals in the 4th and 17th minute of the first half, both off a notorious tease-and-touch goal inside the penalty box.

The second half of the game was no different as SSC, led by the front man Hukhevi, continued their onslaught against the LSC. Hukhevi scored again in the 43th, 60th and 61st minute respectively, officially marking his name as the first hat-trick scorer with an overall five-goal glut.

Anato of SSC also placed his name in the scorecard, netting a goal in the 57th minute. The game ended in a commanding 7-0 victory for SSC.

Ghowoto FC upsets Kiyevi with a 4-1 victory

In the third match of the day, Ghowoto FC stunned Kiyevi SC with a dominant 4-1 victory in the second half thriller of the day.

The first half of the game looked slow and dry as both teams struggled to find control and momentum, resulting in no goal for either team despite few chances.

In the second half, Avika of GFC broke the stalemate in the 31st minute to lead the game by 1-0. However, the joy was cut short when GFC suffered an ‘own goal’ due to a defensive error in the 34th minute, bringing the score to 1-1 level.

Despite the heartbreak, GFC push forward with resilience, again breaking the stalemate as Hoshika scored for GFC in the 41st minute.

Avika then sealed the match by scoring two more goals in the 50th and 53rd minute of the game, to take a comfortable 4-1 victory, while also scoring a commendable hat-trick.

Kiyeto edge past Zutovi SC to keep title hope alive

In the final match of the day, Kiyeto Youth Club edged out Zutovi SC by a lone (1-0) goal to keep title hope alive. Atobo of KYC scored the lone match-winning goal in the 43th minute of the game which proved to do the job for KYC.

Kiyeto Youth Club will take on Ghowoto Football Club for a final-spot decider match of Group B.
