Lironthung Lotha from Nagaland has signed a contract extension with RoundGlass FC Punjab, committing his future to the club for another two years.

“... I am grateful for all the opportunities I got, especially God's blessing. It is not every day someone like me gets to play at such a level,” Lironthung told The Morung Express on Thursday.

The contract was signed earlier on July 18.

The 22-year-old is the son of Lidemo Jami, from Chudi village, and is a permanent resident of Merapani, Wokha.

He has been with the club since 2020, during which he has emerged as a versatile player.

A full-back and winger, Lironthung shared that his game is 'very flexible' and that he can adjust his play. “I will follow instructions and play any position the coach deems fit for me during a game,” he added.

Days after putting pen to paper on the new contract, Lironthung expressed happiness and said that he “gladly accepted the offer,” from the club which has great training facilities and has top coaches from around the world.  “I could not pass such an opportunity,” he added.

Lironthung meanwhile, looks to work on his weaknesses and maintain consistency in each match.
His immediate plan, he said, is to play and train to the best of his ability and take advantage of every opportunity.

“As for the rest, I leave it to the almighty God to lead and guide me,” he added.
