
Nagaland commemorates International Domestic Workers day
Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): The National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM) Nagaland Region in collaboration with Assisi Centre for integrated Development commemorated International Domestic Workers day with the theme “Making decent work a reality beyond COVID-19.”
Sr Ppramila Lobo, UFS Coordinator NDWM- Nagaland Region expressed that due to the pandemic COVID-19, “we could not show to the world our strength, unity and togetherness but we are united.”
“We stand united and fight for the rights, dignity, respect and recognition of the domestic workers. Today our hearts goes go to our domestic workers who have lost their jobs, salary is withheld or delayed,” she stated.
During the occasion, dry rations were also distributed supported by National Domestic Workers Movement.
Later, they distributed safety kits like mask, sanitizer and water to police personnel on duty at Nagaland and Assam border.
