Mortal remains of Naga woman arriving on May 25

The mortal remains of Nchineileu Disuang who passed away on Dimapur-bound train from Haryana on May 22, is being brought home.


After the COVID-19 test result returned negative, the body was embalmed and approved for travel.


According to one of the persons accompanying the deceased’s body, the ambulance left Kanpur around 11:30 pm on May 23.


The ambulance was reported to have reached West Bengal around 6:30 pm on May 24.


Two drivers along with the two persons from Beisumpuikam Village who de-boarded at Kanpur to accompany the deceased will be arriving in Dimapur on May 25.

 

Beisumpuikam prepares to receive late Nchineileu

Meanwhile in Beisumpuikam Village, preparations are on to receive the mortal remains of Nchineileu.


Speaking to The Morung Express, Chairman of the Beisumpuikam Village Council, Tadibe Zeliang said that the village authority representatives will be present when the ambulance carrying the dead body arrives in Dimapur. 


Secretary of the Beisumpuikam Village Council said that the village’s Women Society had also prepared a token of gratitude to be presented to the ambulance drivers.


The Beisumpuikam Village council chairman, Women Society president and Beisumpuikam Students Union President will be among those waiting in Dimapur to receive the body. From Dimapur, they will proceed to Beisumpuikam, late Nchineileu’s native village.


Following prescribed social distancing guidelines, the last rites will be restricted to family members and a few people only, the secretary said.  


After reaching the village, the father of the deceased will be given time to bid farewell to his daughter on behalf of all the family members, he added.

 

Meanwhile, the Beisumpuikam Village Council on May 24 issued a press release thanking all the individuals and organizations who extended assistance and support to bring back their “beloved daughter of the soil.”


Lauding all their selfless dedication and sacrifices, the Beisumpuikam Village Council said that it will have a great impact for the people of Beisumpuikam in particular and the Nagas as a whole.
