TUENSANG/DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): Sao Chang College, in collaboration with the District Hospital Tuensang, observed World Health Day at district hospital, Tuensang on April 7. In the programme which was organized by the IQAC and Students Union of Sao Chang College along with the district hospital, Dr. Tochi, Medical Superintendent In-charge spoke on the importance of health for everyone.
According to a press release issued by media cell, SCC, Dr Tochi in his address said good health is the right of every individual irrespective of social, economic or any other status. He encouraged the gathering to practice healthy life habits to ensure good health by drinking pure water, eating good food items and breathing healthy air. Dr Tochi encouraged the students, faculty and staff nurses attending the programme to promote healthy environment around us, as human life and environment are connected to each other.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh, Co-ordinator IQAC, SCC. Dr. Senilo, Psychiatrist, District Hospital Tuensang & Dr. Lanurenla, Principal, Sao Chang College also spoke during the programme. All together 55 participants including Principal, IQAC Corrdinator, IQAC members, students of Sao Chang College, doctors and nurses of District Hospital Tuensang took part in this programme.
In Dimapur, under the aegis of IGAR (N), Dimapur Battalion Assam Rifles, along with Can Youth (NGO Nagaland) and Regional Ayurvedic Research Centre celebrated World Health Day on April 7 by distributing nutritional supplements at Neistao Colony and Namgalong colony in Dimapur.
The program commenced with lecture on health and hygiene by Medical Officer from Regional Ayurvedic Research Centre, Dimapur. This was followed by distribution of various nutrition supplements to the children. The Assam Rifles contributed by donating various millets, biscuits, chocolates etc. The event saw active participation of 100 children at both locations. Can Youth Nagaland and the locals appreciated Assam Rifles for its support for the event, a press release issued by the Assam Rifled informed.
