NVCO Tseminyu demands answers from Power Dept Tseminyu, May 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers' Organization (NVCO) Tseminyu Sub- Division Unit has written to the Chief Engineer, Power, Nagaland demanding answers on a number of demands “within 20 days”. While highly appreciating the Power Department Wokha Division for timely restoration of feeder transformer at Tseminyu town, the NVCO Tseminyu Sub-Division in its letter to the Chief Engineer further demanded to know from the power department on the charter of demands pertaining to the shifting of 33KV transmission pole passing through the bamboo groves /plantation within Longsa area under Wokha district, the installation of 1MVA power transformer sanctioned against Tseminyu Town, and posting of new JE (Power) for Tseminyu Sub-Division.   ERONET Training for Wokha District Wokha, May 4 (MExN): The ERONET Training for all the BLOs under 39 & 40 A/Cs will be held on May 8, 11:00 am at District Planning Machinery Hall, Opposite Mhondamo Memorial Hospital, and for 37 & 38 A/Cs at 1:00 pm on the same date and venue. A press release from the Assistant Election Commissioner, Wokha, informing this directed all concerned BLOs under 37, 38, 39 and 40 A/Cs to attend the Training without fail.   James Swu designated as PIO Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Kesonyu Yhome has designated P. James Swu, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Dev & APIO, DC Office, as the PIO with immediate effect till further order.   New Delhi’s Nagaland House gets Liaison Officer Kohima, May 4 (MExN): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has appointed Dr Er Vekho Swuro as Liaison Officer at Nagaland House, New Delhi with immediate effect. A press release from the Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar stating this informed that the tenure of the appointment will be till March 31, 2018 and that he will be in the status and rank of Joint Secretary of Government of Nagaland.   PWOK to celebrate 25th anniversary today Kohima, May 4 (MExN): Minister for School Education & SCERT Yitachu will grace the 25th anniversary of Pochury Women Organization Kohima (PWOK) on May 5 at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima. The function will take place from 10:30 am onwards. Parliamentary Secretary for Music Task Force & State Lotteries Khriehu Liezietsu will be the guest of honour. The PWOK has extended invitation to all Pochury community living in Kohima to the celebration. A special invitation is also extended to all the Pochury women married to other tribes and residing in Kohima.   VBS Ministries inform Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): The NEI Vacation Bible School Christian Education Ministries has informed students of VBS programmes and Summer Bible Camps. VBS Students Summer Bible Camp will be held at Christian High School at Tamlu Town from May 16 to 21. VBS programmes will also be held at Bhumnyu Baptist Church under Longleng District from June 7 to 18 and at Khiamniungan Baptist Church from July 5 to 16. A press release in this regard has asked all parents to send their children to attend the VBS programmes.   ADC Pughoboto informs Kohima, May 4 (DIPR): The ADC Pughoboto, Avelu Ruho has informed all the villages under Pughoboto Sub-Division that a tree plantation drive is being organised under LADP on May 12. All the villages have been directed to ensure active participation of all members including Church, Women groups, Youth and Students for the successful completion of the tree plantation drive. Further all the above organizations have been requested to disseminate the information to its members for mass participation that is scheduled to commence from 7:00 am on May 12.   APO welcomes de-recognition of Rongmei tribe Kohima, May 4 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has conveyed its appreciation to the present government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu “for revoking the recognition of Rongmei tribe as an indigenous tribe of Nagaland”. A press release from the APO reminded of its earlier demand for the revocation on September 13, 2013 along with other civil societies of Nagaland. “But the previous Government has refused to listen to the voice of the people who voted them to power,” it added. Welcoming the cabinet decision to revoke the Rongmei tribe recognition, the APO expressed hope that the present Government resolves other existing contentious issues at the earliest “without any fear or favor”.   Lirmen Village celebrates Moatsü Mokokchung, May 4 (MExN): Moatsü Festival celebration was held at Lirmen Village on May 2 with Er Lanu Longchar, EE Irrigation & Flood Control, Mokokchung as chief guest. Temjenlemba, Cartographist said a short speech on the significance of Moatsü and P. Meren Longkumer Retd SDEO, exhorted the congregation. Traditional song was sung by Lirmen Watsu Telen and Lirmen Pati, Olangoin. Different traditional dances were performed by the Nokpu Village Council, Yajang C Village Council, Akumen Village Arju and Lirmen Students Conference.
