NSCN (K) under Nyemlang Konyak affirms to uphold Naga sovereignty

DIMAPUR, JULY 31 (MExN): The NSCN (K) led by Lt General (Retd) Nyemlang Konyak Naga issued a press statement on July 31 pledging allegiance to the “Naga’s sovereign political rights.”

A press release from the NSCN (K) led by Lt General (Retd) Nyemlang Konyak Naga as President stated that “this is a momentous and auspicious occasion of salvaging our revolutionary movement for our sovereign political rights.”

The group’s President stated that he would “defend the sovereign political rights of the west, east, north and south areas wherever Nagas are.”

The press release meanwhile stated that “our actions will speak for themselves as NSCN/GPRN navigates the turbulent waters where wolves in sheep’s clothing are at every nook and corner of the Naga political path.” “The foes have infiltrated our ranks trying to breach our last standing defenders of sovereign political rights and the saddest part is the extent to which even former President, Yung Aung was compromised with NSCN (IM) which is a leading party to the August 3, 2015 accord of economic settlement with Indian Constitution,” it alleged.

It further accused the Indian Government of “desperately trying all means to destroy the last bastion of the defenders of Naga sovereign political rights.”

The press release meanwhile stated that “almost all of our leaders have died in foreign lands but late SS Khaplang who bears the honourable distinction of never giving in or giving up Naga sovereign rights, till his last breath in Nagaland.” It affirmed that the NSCN/GPRN would carry on his “glorious legacy” and continue to support “all nations who are wrongfully oppressed in their struggle for freedom.
