Dimapur, January 31 (MExN): A 19 member team of B. Sc (Ag) students from NU SASRD Medziphema Campus participated in the 12th All India Agri Unifest held from January 17-21, 2011 at Anand Agricultural University (AAU), Anand in the state of Gujarat.
The team was lead by Dr. K. K. Jha, Team Manager & Programme Officer, NSS Unit SASRD. All together 35 Agricultural Universities participated in the Agri Unifest which encompassed competition in the events of music, theatre, folk dance, literary, drawing and painting. SASRD team also participated in nine events comprising folk dance, mime, mono acting, extempore, elocution, debate, quiz, on the spot painting and cartooning. This was for the first time that SASRD students got an opportunity to participate in the Agri Unifest.
A press release issued by Dr. K. K. Jha, Team Manager, stated that SASRD students performed well, got in-depth exposure of varied cultural heritage across the Indian states and also enriched their knowledge and performing skills from other participating teams. The team also visited AMUL and Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and returned Nagaland on January 28.
