
Dimapur, February 25 (MExN): Skill training for unemployed youth batch 20 was inaugurated at Don Bosco Tech AIDA centre today. Bath 20 of skill training for unemployed youth of Nagaland started on January 23 with 96 trainees from 17 different tribes of Northeast. Training is imparted in domains such as hospitality – food and beverage service, hospitality – hair dressing and hospitality – beauty and wellness.
Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir, Chief Editor and Proprietor of Heritage Publishing House graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address Dr. Lanusangla said that “Unemployment and unemployability are the major problems that we face today. I always feel that skill based education is the only way to address the issue of unemployment problem.” She further added, “To run business or industry we need good policy makers, honest civil servants and good politicians; but it is skilled people who support the major part of the economy.” Dr. Lanusangla encouraged the trainees to “take this training seriously” and appreciated the parents “for sending your wards to attend this skill training.”
Father C.T Varghese, Rector of Don Bosco Dimapur reminded the trainees that they are “undergoing a transition from indiscipline to disciplined life, laziness to hardwork. You need to move away from addiction to bad habits to addiction to self discipline”
Amos Ekka, State coordinator for Don Bosco Tech operations shared on the work of Don Bosco Tech in India and in Dimapur region. “Don Bosco Tech is committed to skilling of youth taking advantage of the opportunities available currently. We want to contribute to the demographic dividends the whole world is talking about. We want to make sure that, as India is going to be the skill capital of the world our youth, particularly from Northeast do not miss the bus. They are second to none and Don Bosco Tech wants them to compete and excel with their counterparts in mainland India,” Amos added.
Jessica Sumi welcomed the gathering and Ganesh shared his life testimony. The audiences were enthralled by Konyak and Yimchunger folk dances, Sumi and Chakesang folk songs performed by trainees. Ajano gave the vote of thanks.
Don Bosco Tech AIDA Centre Coordinator, Regina Pamma Karai in a press release said that Don Bosco Tech AIDA centre has trained 1381and placed 1300 in last 6 years.
