Kohima, August 30 (MExN): The second biannual meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Dimapur was held at Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Shokhuvi on August 30 under the Chairmanship of Brig SK Sheoran, YSM, SM, Commandant, ARTC&S. 

The meeting was attended by 37 members of Central Government Offices, Banks and Undertakings from Dimapur, informed a press release issued by PRO (Defence), Kohima & Imphal.

The meeting started with welcome address by the Secretary TOLIC, followed by a detailed briefing on the various aspects of TOLIC meet by the Hindi Officer of ARTC&S. Members of TOLIC, Dimapur presented their feedback on official work in Rajbhasha Hindi in their respective offices. 

Assessing the progress regarding implementation of Hindi in Central Government Offices in Dimapur, the Commandant stressed on importance of progressive use of Hindi and exhorted all members to implement the policies issued by the Government of India regarding implementation of the official language Hindi. He emphasised that Hindi should be implemented by incentive and inspiration in all Central Government offices. He further added that all TOLIC members should be present in the meeting to enhance the utility of TOLIC meeting.      

In order to enhance the spirit of healthy competition amongst the offices of Central Government, TOLIC Shield Scheme was introduced, in which first three member offices are awarded with shields for the implementation of official Language Policy in a better manner.

Group Centre CRPF, Khatkhati, Regional Ayurveda Research Centre, Dimapur and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sewak Project, Dimapur were awarded with first, second and third shield respectively. 

A total of 43 Assam Rifles, Nagaland University, Lumami, ICAR- National Mithun Research Centre, Dimapur, Geological Survey of India, Dimapur, Central Bank of India, Dimapur were also extended Commendation Certificate for their excellent work done in the field of official language implementation.

In the end, suggestions and feedback points were invited and the same were addressed by the Chairman in the meet.
