The Tzüsapang sector of Mokokchung village celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Friday, August 30, marking 25 years since the sector’s formation. The event took place at the Tzüsapang community hall under the theme “Telungjem Ajanga Tejakleni,” which loosely translates to “progressing together in unity.” The occasion was graced by T. N. Mannen, IAS (Retd.), Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, who served as the chief guest.

During his address, T. N. Mannen, a resident of the sector, highlighted that the sector is a melting pot where people from all six Ao ranges and various communities live together peacefully, free from any feelings of division or discrimination. He emphasized that this unity is essential for maintaining peace of mind and fostering goodwill among residents.

Mannen described the Jubilee as a moment to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of the sector over the past 25 years. He encouraged the residents to look to the future with the aim of achieving even greater accomplishments. He urged every resident to take pride in their sector and to work collectively toward both human relationships and infrastructure development.

In his speech, Mannen also acknowledged the American missionaries for their significant role in bringing peace and harmony among the Ao tribe. He pointed out that prior to their arrival, there was infighting among the villages, and communities were largely isolated. He credited the missionaries with fostering a spirit of unity that allowed the Aos to live together harmoniously.

The Tzüsapang sector was formed in 1999 under the Mokokchung village Jungli Kosa Sanger Putu Menden. It is the second oldest of the seven sectors surrounding the village.
